Dutch Sailing Tjalk, “Twee Gebroeders”, 65’

 

 

Built 1897 Gorichem, NL. Riveted Iron hull and deck with steel cockpit and superstructure added in 1950.

 

58’ (17.8m), 65’ (20m) with bowsprit, mast (inc counterweight and tabernacle), boom, sails (main, staysail, jib), leeboards and leeboard winches in working order, staysail traveller, A-frame, traditional curly gaff, main sheet blocks, backstay chains, all in good condition. Not currently rigged, but new standing rigging and many parts of the running rigging available. VHF, compass, echo sounder, large and comfortable self draining cockpit, tiller steering, anchor winch and anchor (all chain), additional anchors.

 

Engraved glazing, Morso diesel stove, bath with shower, pump out loo. 12V and 240V systems, 3 stage charger but no inverter. 240V immersion heater and engine calorifier. Covers for pigeon boxes and winches.

 

Max draught 2’6”, Airdraft 109”, Beam 14’, Interior Head room in saloon 6’2” (1.88m) going down to 5’ 9” (1.75m). 5’ 9” in main bedroom and ½ 2nd bedroom, other ½ 2nd bedroom and store 4’ (1.23m).

 

Perkins 4.236M (62 hp) engine, reconditioned Nov 2005, with gearbox (Paragon), dressed propeller and shaft all in good working order. Tender.

 

20 tons craning weight.

 

BSC till Sep ‘08. Auto fire extinguisher, and automatic and manual bilge pumps in engine compartment.

 

Lying Bristol floating harbour, close to Clifton. Although the boats current mooring is strictly non-residential, the owner did live on the boat for a year at other moorings.

 

Internal lining is wood, and the cabin sides and top are insulated. Gas and smoke detector.
